Culverthorpe and Kelby Footpath 5/1, centre of Kelby village to track through Holme Farm, TF005414 to TF005413
Reported via desktop in the Right of Way not as mapped category anonymously at 01:29, Sat 1 November 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2860059.
The mapped route shows the footpath crossing Holme farmyard in a southerly direction from the village centre before crossing a field to a rectangular wooded area. However this route is impassable due to farm buildings and fences without stiles. The only feasible route through the farmyard runs in an easterly direction, taking walkers to a stile some 300 metres further east than would be expected from the map. The landowner has installed a Permissive Footpath sign and gate further west at the track junction with Oasby Road (TF004413) which, together with the absence of waymarking along the public right of way, creates a strong sense that walkers should avoid the farmyard. However this permissive route is presently useless as access between it and the right of way is blocked by electric fencing. (To their credit, a stable hand was very helpful in pointing out the eastern stile and the route across to the wooded area.)
