Rutting of footway down to binder course. This caused the wheels of my 1 year old’s pram to get stuck in the ridge of the uneven surface, causing the pram to tip forward and land on top of my daughter. She sustained a significant split lip upon hitting the footway and was significantly distressed. She’s subsequently very nervous about being in her pram. This area is not well street lit (it falls between columns) and it was very dark at the time (approx 18:15). This added to our distress because I wasn’t able to assess the damage until we had walked further down the road under a streetlight - I was worried she had knocked teeth out with the amount of blood on her face and coat. This is a high pedestrian trafficked area between residential areas and the city centre, the route to the infant school and the route to the Common. It must be safe to traverse with a pram and/or mobility aid.
