I am writing to request a permanent repair to the damaged section of road outside my property at 92 Wragby Road East. I had reported this issue last year, and a council representative inspected and repaired it with a patch (please refer to the report from 6 November 2024). Unfortunately, the patchwork lasted only a few months, and the surface has now deteriorated back to its original condition. I have highlighted the affected area in the attached photographs for your reference.
The uneven and broken surface is causing significant problems for residents. The undersurface and chassis of our cars scrape against the damaged section each time we enter or exit the driveway, and earlier this year, the spring coil of one of our cars broke as a direct result. I have also included a comparative image showing the smooth and well-maintained section of road outside my neighbour’s property, which illustrates the extent of the difference.
In addition, I would like to highlight a safety concern. I have a severely disabled child, and his school transport drops him off directly outside our house. On several occasions, both he and his elderly chaperone have almost tripped due to the uneven surface. This poses a serious risk to their safety and to others using the area.
Given the repeated failure of temporary patch repairs and the ongoing safety and property damage concerns, I kindly but firmly request that the council fully resurface this section of the road outside 92 Wragby Road East, rather than applying another short-term patch. This will prevent further vehicle damage and ensure the safety of residents and visitors alike.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

The gravel that was put to temporarily fix the surface whilst a permanent measure is awaited has yet again, broken down. I was told by your colleague when he came to do the surface measurements that everytime it breaks I will need to report it. Hence I am reporting it now as the dip has led to 2 of my first car and 1 of my second car’s spring coils and shock absorbers to be broken. Am getting quite frustrated now paying constantly for car works as everytime I bring my car in or out, it hits the floor really hard. Please can a permanent measure be done now asap as it’s been more than 7 months.
