Opposite 7 lowther avenue

Reported via mobile in the Street light category anonymously at 01:30, Wednesday 5 November 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2860394.

There is a street lamp directly in front of my house, this street light and all of them down the street of Lowther Avenue are still currently on and bright at 1:30am in the morning. The light is right in my window and shining bright. They’ve been wrong for a long time as the timing does not change with the clocks which is so frustrating and stay on til way past midnight which is not needed down our residential street in Moulton but we had a few power cuts yesterday and now they haven’t even switched off at this hour and it’s affecting my sleep.

  • The UK adjusts clocks between British Summertime and Greenwich Mean Time in the Spring and Autumn. The lights have individual sensors that monitor the number of daylight hours which adjust for the change to British Summertime or Greenwich Mean Time. That means the sensors on the part-night lights enter a period of adjustment during Spring and Autumn.

As the lighting seems to have been subject to a power cut altering the timings temporarily, this may have added to the delay in the photocells adjusting to the new timings. This issue will rectify itself within a few days. If the problem continues to persist, please don’t hesitate to re-report. Thank you for reporting this matter.
