Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

This issue which I reported 2 weeks ago has continued to worsen. It is on the road at the of the footpath where people/ children step down to cross the road. This is an accident waiting to happen especially when it’s dark and you cannot see it is there/filled with rainwater during the winter months especially. It’s repair is a matter of importance.

The pothole that I had previously reported at the junction of Union Street and Cisterngate has significantly worsened over the past few day. It is full of rainwater most of the time and any pedestrian stepping down would not be able to see how deep the hole is and potentially fall and really hurt themselves badly. The street lighting is dreadful as we have street lights out which have also been reported and still not repaired!!

This issue with the dangerous pothole as stated has worsened even more. Cars/vans etc are.making this quite dangerous for pedestrians.

This pothole has continued to grow in size, both in circumference and depth. Can someone please repair it as soon as possible. Now a danger in the evening/poor light. Also when pothole fills with water it is difficult to ascertain where it is as it blends with the wet road surface. Please advise THIS HAS NOW BECOME AN URGENT ISSUE!

As at 15th January 2026 this pothole is still awaiting repair. It is getting worse and ant vehicle going over it at any speed could result in serious damage to their vehilcle or loss of control. Furthermore I live in Union street and it is almost impossible to turn into Union Street from Cisterngate without the offside wheel ending up in the hole. Please action urgently.
