Bus stop on Ryhall Road on same side as Hospital entrance

Reported via mobile in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 16:03, Friday 14 November 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2861547.

A very large amount of water has accumulated on the road infront of the bus stop on Ryhall Road just to the left of the hospital entrance. I crossed the road at the traffic lights outside the Stamford Day Centre and there was water running in the gutter at a width of 30cm I travelled on the pavement up to the bus stop getting covered with water from cars driving up the road to to mini roundabout. I stopped at the bus stop where the water was covering over white lines in the middle of the road. As I was waiting for a bus I had the misfortune of being the target for some of Stamfords less than considerate drivers who covered me and my electric wheelchair in fountains of water.

Updates

  • Thanks for letting us know about your issue with standing water covering more than half the road.

We have experienced a large amount of rainfall in a short period of time. We are prioritising reports where the flooding poses a risk to life or a significant risk of internal flooding.

In times of extremely heavy rain drains can become overwhelmed and at the moment roadside drains may not be able to drain away due to watercourses being full and backing up.

Normally we would investigate this issue and let you know what we find within 14 days, however current timescales may be extended as we prioritise our resources. If the problem becomes significantly worse during this incident please contact us again. You can find out more about flooding and drainage on our website

  • Thank you for your report. We've inspected and acknowledge that this gully/system is blocked, but because it is not causing a serious highway safety or property flooding issue we will not be ordering work at this time. Thank you for reporting this matter.

State changed to: No further action
