I previously reported large cracks appearing in the road a few months ago. They have since got drastically worse. There is major subsidence on one half of the road causing cracks over a metre long in multiple places down the road, but one in particular is now very deep and is now causing damage to cars. Multiple people in the village have had their tyres damaged. It’s really urgently needs sorting out. It’s right before a blind bend too so if you try and swerve to avoid it you risk a head on collision with a car coming round the bend you can’t see coming. This road had these exact same issues about 6 years ago and the whole road had to be closed and resurfaced and I must say when it reopened it looked amazing and was the nicest road in the area to drive on, but the cause of the problem has still not been addressed. The subsidence is because a large dyke runs alongside the road and during heavy rain the ground under the road starts to slip into the dyke. The sides of the dyke needs shoring up or the road needs underpinning so the ground can’t move, otherwise this will keep happening.
