Junction of Bembridge Way onto the A16 in Sibsey

Reported via desktop in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 12:49, Fri 21 November 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2862407.

There is a trench scare in the road the width of one side of the carriage way this previously sank they topped it up and relayed the anti skid surface and over filled it. This now shakes my house and my neighbours either side my house literally jumps when a loaded lorry or tractor goes over this hump I have serious concerns that is is affecting my house structurally I should not lay in bed to feel the house shudder as a lorry hits this section of road.

  • Thank you for your reply, This issue was not raised in relation to the condition of the road surface but the level of the last making good of the trench after it settled. The trench was over filled which now has the effect of a sleeping policeman across the road when this is driven over by laden lorries and tractors it bounces my house and that of my neighbours each side of me a glass of water visibly shakes with the bump of the heavy vehicles and my house gives cracking noises at the time of impact on the bump I can only assume the trench is at the same level as my house foundations and the thump which is comparable to a pile being driven is being transferred though what will be a ground condition of clay I have serious concerns in relation to damage this is causing to my property, its clear from how it was originally laid level and the trench on the other side carriageway that by removing the over fill and leaving it a level surface it will then stop this issue.

    Kind Regards Rob
