Flooding across A607 caused by blocked drains. Before and after rain photos. Post Office flooded and forced to close 2 years ago for same reason.

  • We’re sending you this message to let you know that we cleaned this areas drains in the last year and our last inspection showed that they are working well. It’s worth noting though that at times of extreme weather even well-maintained drains like these can be overwhelmed. If the problem happens again but in less extreme conditions then please report this to us and we will investigate the issue again. Thank you for reporting this matter.

    June 2018 Post Office & Tea Rooms flooded and closed for several weeks. November 2023. Post Office flooded and forced to close during craft event. Sleaford Road drains, along with those outside the Post Office. cleared and no further flooding or water collecting on road outside until 2025 November/ December drains outside Post Office blocked. Post Office forced to close and use sandbags. Drains outside the Post Office are the only ones blocked again in the immediate area. Photo taken yesterday, 10.12.2025

    1455 12.12.25 post office drain already over flowing and not even heavy rain. one of the busiest times of the week. now 12 days since this was reported.

    PHOTO SHOWS DRAIN STILL BLOCKED 2.49PM TODAY 07.01.2025. FIRST REPORTED ON 01.12.25. UPDATES FROM ME ON 11th- 12th- 18th DEC 2025 AND NOW TODAY.- STORM GORETTI SUBJECT TO YELLOW WARNING FORECAST FOR TOMORROW AND FRIDAY. COMPLAINT LODGED 18.12.25. BUSINESS & DOMESTIC PROPERTY AT RISK.
