Picture now attached of sunken kerb that was only repaired recently

Reported via mobile in the Trip hazard/uneven surface category by DoA ProperJob at 09:19, Wed 3 December 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2863962.

Trip hazard that has sunk again after only recently being laid. Why is it impossible for you to carry out a long lasting, quality repair? You are not looking after tax payers money and the public purse is not bottomless. Yet again you'll need to return to this job to try again.

  • Our footways are designed for pedestrians and cannot tolerate the weight limits put upon them when vehicles are parked on the footway (see photos of the location you have reported, at the time of our visit). This problem is more commonplace in industrial estates, because of the larger number of heavy vehicles present. We will continue to monitor and maintain the footways according to their hierarchy and usage, however until legislation is changed, neither Lincolnshire County Council nor Lincolnshire Police have the powers to enforce those parking on footways and verges. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • If there's no way of enforcing it, surely the foundations in future and future repairs will be carried to a better standard. Also, your pictures don't show a vehicle parked on the actual fault I have reported, which is still a trip hazard and which has been "repaired" once already

  • Picture taken just now on inspection shows no vehicles parked on this piece of defective footway. Excuse denied.
