Vehicles visiting the Spar shop are continually driving onto and churning up the adjacent grass verge (parking dangerously over double yellow lines). This action drags large amounts of mud onto the pavement, which becomes extremely slippery, especially when wet, creating a serious trip hazard for pedestrians, including the elderly and those with pushchairs.
The persistent mess is causing considerable distress and frustration among local residents, as the mud is tracked onto the street and into homes. This issue is primarily due to inconsiderate driving and the shop's failure to manage their customer parking and prevent access onto the verge causing damage to council property (i.e. the grass verge).
We request urgent action to clear the existing mess and install measures (e.g., bollards or barriers) to prevent further vehicle access to the verge and eliminate this ongoing hazard.
