Issue

Reported via mobile in the Problem at LCC roadworks category anonymously at 17:29, Wed 10 December 2025

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2865117.

I would like to report an incident that occurred today (10 December) at approximately 3:00pm at the temporary traffic lights in Leasingham, Lincolnshire.

I was first in the queue at the temporary lights when they were suddenly switched off with no warning and no staff present to direct traffic. This location is on a bend and close to a very busy roundabout, so visibility is limited. I hesitated because it was not clear whether it was safe to proceed.

Shortly afterwards, workers became intimidating towards me, shouting and making rude gestures. This was upsetting and felt very unprofessional. More importantly, the way the lights were switched off created a potentially dangerous situation for drivers, as there was no guidance on how to proceed. The worker shouted at me “the lights are off you know” which made me feel stupid. I knew they were off but they stopped suddenly!

I am reporting this because I feel the traffic management was unsafe and the behaviour of the worker was unprofessional. Surely temp traffic lights should not just stop on a busy road with no workers present. Not one single driver behind me overtook or beeped so obviously they thought the same as me!
