Ruskington Fen Dorrington Road Junction
Reported via mobile in the Other road surface issue category anonymously at 00:01, Thu 25 December 2025
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2866969.
///gathering.bottle.candle Road surface broken and cracked with potholes and sharp steps in road surface along an 18 metre stretch. Road has deep cracks with steps up to 16cm deep either side of a raised central ridge approx 45cm wide. Vehicles are now routinely striking the road surface at several points along this section. Observed a vehicle ground in 2 places at this location whilst taking these photographs. Road is collapsing further at the side of the road, leading cars to slip off onto the verge.
Location 7 of 8 within an area of general surface degradation over a 500 metre stretch of road. Road defects reported several times but no repair action has been taken. The condition of this road has been worsening for over 10 months and was first reported in September by me, possibly earlier by others.

Applying patches to approximately 6 feet of a 10m stretch of degraded road is not ‘fixing’ it. The attached photo of this section of road was taken this morning. Please revisit this whole quarter-mile section of road again and consider it as a whole, not as a small number of potholes, which it definitely is not.

7 months on from first reporting this serious road defect and 4 month after a further detailed report with photographs, no repairs have been carried out and the surface and road-bed continue to degrade. Please review this section of road and repair it.

Thank you for your update. We appreciate you taking the time to raise concerns about this section of road again.
Firstly, we apologise that the response recorded by our officers in February, which addressed your concerns and provided information about the date for further works at this location, was not shared with you at the time. We are reviewing our processes to help ensure this does not happen again.
In February, works were carried out to repair defects at this location that met our intervention levels, and further works were scheduled for the end of May 2026. In the interim, uneven road warning signs were put in place to alert drivers to the current condition of the road. Until these further works take place, we will continue to monitor the area and raise works for any defects that meet our intervention levels.
Thank you for your continued engagement, and we appreciate your patience while further works are programmed.
