This is water flowing from Pigeeon Spring, Horse Market, Caistor
Reported via Android in the Standing water covering more than half the road category by Cliff Rust at 10:12, Saturday 3 January 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2867616.
This is a natural spring, flowing fast, and the water is not draining through the culvert beneith the road to the opposite side. Maybe due to a blockage in the drain, although I cannot see one! This is extremely dangerous at the moment due to the freezing conditions creating the highway into an ice rink. The blockage needs clearing, but in the meantime, extra grit should br considered although the flow of water would probably wash it away.

Apparently this has not been fixed and the water from Pigeon Spring is still in full flow. The photograph you provided of completed works actually shows a drain down the street that they uncovered! Note: The problem is the source of the water, which is in full glow from Pigeon Spring itself. This is next to the old fire station and the problem cannot have been misunderstood.. It is the egress of water from the spring that needs sorting, not the drain down the road where it is flowing to! Water is flooding out onto the road causing the highway to be extremely dangerous. Possibly a 50 metre stretch of highway.

This has been reported several times in January 2026, and signed off as fixed. HOWEVER, you were clearly informed that it had not been fixed and the only thing done was to put some signs out. Thankfully, we haven't had any icy conditions since January otherwise I dread to think of the carnage. Please arrange for this drain to be cleared at the earliest convenience. It is now four months.
