Highways agency drain which runs across entrance to our driveway is full of debri so run off water from pavement flooding driveway. When rain heavy making access to property difficult due to volume of water laying across entrance. The drain has a long metal grill over it which is fixed down with metal clips so cannot be cleaned out by myself. I do try to keeps grass and weeds cleared which grow in it due to amount of sand in drain but this is difficult to as grill spaces are very narrow.
Previously highways agency team have cleaned out drain when requested but despite putting several requests in over the past two years nothing has been done.
I am hoping this can be resolved promptly before more heavy rain please.
Elderly mum unable to go out when it has been raining as too much deep pooled water across driveway entrance. Cannot get across with rolator.
Water also pools across full pedestrian part of pavement so pedestrians have to go around into cycle path to get past.

Hello Drain across outside of driveway still not been cleaned out despite multiple requests for more than two years. When rain heavier covers full deep pool of water covers pedestrian side of pavement and makes pedestrian access to property when rains challenging.
Please can the drain be cleaned out. Used to be done regularly by highways agency after they put drain in. For some reason despite numerous requests request seems to be ignored.

Hello Received message in February to say been assessed and allocated to be done. Now that it is raining again we are back to deep water across driveway entrance and find it. I try to keep the grass and weeds out of drain but more and more difficult as debris in drain so compacted now and I have a shoulder problem which means trying to clear weeds between the grids very difficult.
Just wondering if there is an update on when the drain will be cleaned out please Kind regards

We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

One of the very helpful contractors who has Ibsen part of the major road works on Grantham road cleaned the drain out two days ago after I asked him how I could do it myself as have been waiting for just under 3 years now for the highways agency to clear it. The drain is now cleaned out. Whether the pipe is actually still connected to the main drain on the road after been cut through when the fibre broadband was been laid j don’t k ow as have not seen anyone cone to do this but at least part of the job has been done. They may need to flush water onto the pipe part from the run off drain to se if it is actually working. Kind regards
