Drainage from 1 navigation lane running across path onto road

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction (Road/Pavement) category anonymously at 13:16, Thursday 8 January 2026

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2868273.

This is a big issue. As you can see from the photos taken on the public path at number 1 navigation lane caistor. The homeowner has a drainage pipe from his property/garden 6inches from path level . This drains onto the path and runs onto the road . In frosty conditions this creates and large think ice patch . This last week its been over an inch think approx 6-8 ft wide and has been there for well over a week. Ive slipped on this on more than one occasion and the only way around its is to walk on the road. This accures every year

  • We are sorry, we are not taking any action on this enquiry at this time. Whilst we recognise there is water being discharged from the garden wall, there are many of these land drains up and down the County which pass over footways. There is a grit bin near by that may be used for this situation if the water does turn icy. This is an issue that re-occurs only in the winter months. We do not currently believe this is causing a significant safety hazard at this time and as a result, a lower priority amongst other issues. No action required at this time. This decision may change should this issue worsen further. Thank you for reporting this matter.
