Railway bridge, Station Road, Helpringham

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2868438.

The hedges on both sides of the road on either side of the bridge are starting to encroach on the road and pushing traffic towards the middle of the road on what is a blind section due to the rise over the bridge.

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

  • In this instance we don’t intend on taking immediate action. Because our current resources are extremely limited we have to focus our enforcement on matters of a significant danger or nuisance to road users. We can, however, continue to monitor the site during our routine inspections and will review the situation. Thank you for reporting this matter.

  • Please note that this is a narrow bridge with a 'blind' hump. Although the growth may not seem that bad it does mean that vehicles have to move towards the middle of the road to avoid it. This is not ideal as it is not possible to see if vehicles are coming from the opposite direction. Would you please re-assess the site.
