Near junction of Eastville Road and Chapel Lane Toynton St Peter

Reported via iOS in the Standing water covering more than half the road category anonymously at 15:22, Saturday 10 January 2026

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 2868616.

Water bubbling up from verge, completely covering road, quite deep. Flowing down Chapel Lane. Will cause severe hazard when it freezes. Have reported it to Anglian Water who say it is not their responsibility.

  • This problem has not been sorted it has got worse water is gushing down chapel lane if there is more icy weather this can be a dangerous situation. The water board has been contacted they have said it's not a leak so the volume of water must be coming from some where. This needs to be sorted before a really bad accident occurrs on a very dangerous bend

  • Severe ice issue yesterday morning due to this extensive thin flooding of a corner of Eastville Road at the junction with Chapel Lane that is normally one that needs care. Ice has gone but water remains so any future cold weather will cause a dangerous road surface.

  • Water on this junction was really bad today, it really needs looking at asap before it freezes over

  • With the heavy rain today Chapel Lane is flooding, the drain cannot cope with the water flow. A resident has recently installed a manège riding school, have they directed the drainage towards the road. It may/may not be the reason but certainly needs investigating. I also do not see planning permission for the Manège, I thought this was needed.

  • Still flooding and still nothing has been done about it

  • Still pouring water out from manhole, nice clean fresh water. absolutely criminal that possibly that no company is sorting this mess. There must be over a million litres of water escaping weekly. Needs sorting.

  • Anglian Water say it is not their problem. LCC are seemingly doing nothing, or at least taking their sweet time. As the month ends we can expect the return of freezing overnight conditions. This corner, in its present watery state, will become a lethal ice-rink - and on a corner that at the best times needs care by drivers. An accident here will be almost inevitable.

  • A week later after you said works have been planned and still no sign of any work being done. With freezing weather coming let’s hope no one has a serious accident on ice which is a dodgy bend at the best of times. You have had plenty of warning

  • Still leaking a million plus litres a week and the road is starting to wash away all right on a dangerous bend..

  • The water still pouring out and destroying the road. So much water coming down Chapel Lane it is starting to flood my front garden. If this causes any damage I will be claiming my repairs from the council for ignoring the residents plea to get this sorted. What are these proposed works that have been promised?

  • We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

  • Need road sweepers out here to clean this road after the local farmer has covered the road in soil, water is still pouring out from the man hole. Eastville road now resembles a very muddy dirt track
