I'm a pedestrian, have no car. Walking to the village for shops and post office is my only method of getting there, and Crossgate Lane is our normal route in. Normally I can step onto grass verge to get out of way of any vehicles using the lane, which I have to do as the lane is not wide enough for a vehicle to pass me. But since Mon 5 January I cannot get on the grass verges because they have been stripped away by loads of vehicles using this lane to avoid the main road closure on B1356. There is now no safe route for me to walk to get away from cars driving on the lane. I cannot in fact keep upright on the lane and had to turn back home, because there is so much mud it is too slippery to pick a way through, and I was getting beeped and bullied by vehicles who seem to think I as an old lady shouldn't be there to delay them. This is exactly the problem we warned you about for this main road closure, that the lanes would become impassable, and that we as pedestrians would be bullied by traffic trying to force through. You ignored us. I want to go to the shops next week, there is no bus because it is not running through due to the main road closure you allowed, so I need a walking route, and it needs to be passable and safe from traffic driving at me. I hope you can fix Crossgate Lane before then.
