Blocked road side drains and the underground dyke is also blocked water comes up around the inspection cover on my property near road drain, this is causing flooding around my property and is also flooding inside my property and needs immediate attention! It is affecting many of the roadside drains from Toft House towards A52, drains in the other direction are unaffected.

I can confirm that the underground drainage is blocked somewhere adjacent to Toft house the inspection chamber is full and was overflowing, I have pumped out 1000s of gallons and made little difference to the levels. The levels rising as soon as the pump is stopped. The water is still coming up and flooding inside my house, posing health and safety risk. This issue needs priority attention.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

Thanks for passing this on to Highways, I can confirm that although the water level has dropped slightly, the inspection chamber is still full of water almost to ground level. With tomorrows forecasted rain I am certain that it will rise again and continue to cause more property damage.

We have been lucky with the weather, however today with the widespread heavy rain the water is already up to floor level inside my property and rising, please do anything you can to fix the blockage so I can have a dry house to live in again

Thanks for the update, After last nights rain we now have water inside our property again this morning!! also I notice the the road side drain drain iron work is collapsing into the drain and steadily getting lower than the road surface. Please can the repairs be prioritised so we don’t need wellingtons to go into parts of our house!!

We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

The jetting crew have been back and have investigated further and have confirmed that the drain is completely blocked with tree roots, the truck is not big enough to run a root cutter on the jetting hose so couldn’t investigate further however it must be assumed the pipe has collapsed allowing such root invasion. This will require Civil Engineering to dig out and repair as soon as possible. As the issue is not fixed and the drain is still blocked and we had more heavy rain soon after the jetting crew left. The water level in the chamber outside my property has risen again and is now almost full again and almost to the point of coming up inside my property again!! I understand that civil engineering will take time to arrange, however this must be a high priority to minimise further property damage, maybe a high volume water pump could be used to prevent the water level rising in the drainage system and flooding the property as temporary measure.

Please can I have an update on the findings of the investigations and the remedial actions to clear/repair the drainage. We have been lucky we haven’t had as much rain in the recent week, however the water level is only a few inches below the top of the chamber. This is still making the surrounding ground very wet and boggy causing dampness in the walls of my property and a lot of ground movement and subsistence that is evident on the entrance to my property and paved areas

Due to overnight heavy rain, the access chamber and roadside drain outside my property have filled with water and been overflowing again, flooding the area around my property again, therefore by we have water inside our property yet again. We need to get this drainage issue resolved as this is disrupting our entire house as we have lost the use of part of it and we have had to move and store everything out of the reach of the water. I would now also like to explore the possibilities for compensation for this completely avoidable situation and damages

The water level has been up to almost flooding us again! Can I have an update on the process of the remedial works please. I also need to know about making a claim for damages. This radio silence is getting very frustrating I need to know what is happening as this is impacting on our lives and preventing any progress in getting back to normal life. I am getting to the point of taking things further and raising this as a formal complaint
