Local people have said, "This drain has been blocked for years." - It certainly looks that way! We are wondering unblocking this drain could alleviate the flooding on Winn Street that is being reported to us every time there is any heavy rain.

Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

Most of the drains along Monks Road and its up and down roads are working very well compared with before they were almost all cleaned after the Monks Road Residents Association videos were submitted to the council. However, about a dozen drains are now causing big problems. As well as this drain on Thomas Street reported here, others include: Ref: 8880762 2876473 Toronto Street - bottom east corner Ref: 8880625 2876563 Lacey Street / Monks Road junction - west corner Ref: 8878478 2876473 Jellicoe Avenue - Drains at bottom of road
