Girton Lane on the turn before Sandi lands.

Reported via iOS in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 20:30, Thursday 19 February 2026

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2879543.

Various car killing potholes and a very rough surface dangerous to drive on. The issue has been getting worse especially over the past month since the cold weather and the constant roll of Lorrie’s down this single track lane.

  • I turned right on to Girton Lane off Hives Lane. Just after Sandilands Farm I hit a pot hole on the right hand side of the road with a loud bang to my front off side wheel. As no passing place or parking area was here, I drove on to find somewhere I could hopefully have a look at my car. Shortly after this I hit a second one that caused my TPMS to light up on the dashboard suggesting my tyre had suffered a blow out. I managed to reverse up and have a look using my cars lights. It is an unlit area and it was very dark. I would suggest the pothole was easily over a metre in total length and around 500cm wide. I used my waterproof boot to estimate the depth and suggest it was around 20cm deep at least. After safely parking I got out to inspect the damage. A split was in the side wall of my tyre.
