A158 Main Road at junction with Scothern Lane

Manhole frame and covering are loose and rattling. This has also caused the reinstatement to break away and create a pothole around the frame. The manhole is on the line of the tyre track and is subject to regular and constant damage. It needs the frame resetting on resin bedding and a locked cover so as to prevent future vibration and damage, before a permanent reinstatement is carried out. Traffic management will be required in order to carry out repairs at this busy and difficult road junction
