Lane of Smithy Lane between End Cottage and Bethany

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2884804.

We have had an ongoing issue with drainage on our little lane with water coming up out of one drain and flowing down the lane and down another grate. It has flowed continually along side the kerbing at the edge of our property.

Whilst we are extremely grateful that the whole of Smithy Lane (and our little lane) was resurfaced last week - it is a great improvement BUT it has affected the camber of our little lane and the water is flowing all over the lane and a lot is going into the garden of End Cottage. Its good that it is clean water! I dread to think what the whole surface would be like if it froze.

  • Great news, we’ve had a look at the issue and we have now passed to our Highways Officers for the team to assess what can be done to resolve the matter. We’ll let you know when the assessment has taken place.

    I have added some photographs taken yesterday, 30 March, which show that water is still coming out of the grate on the corner of Smithy Lane and flowing down the Lane between Bethany and End Cottage and into the garden of End Cottage. I do have photographs from nearly everyday since 13 March

    Whilst there has been no rain for some time. Water has started coming up from the drain and flowing down the lane between Bethany and End Cottage. where is this water coming from?
