Over the “ APPROACH”, over the river, on the left hand side, just before the Herring Lane junction.

Reported via mobile in the Pothole on road/cycleway category anonymously at 09:28, Thursday 2 April 2026

Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2887181.

Mass deterioration of a Drainage Cover and its surround. Approx 15 inch wide, depth of hole 8 inches. This hole is a Serious issue! and would be very grateful of your help. If a car hits this it’s Curtains, Along with the HGVs that are pouring out of the opposite Herring Lane junction, it’s a serious injury waiting to happen. I took various photos yesterday and was speaking to several HGV drivers also! They are concerned, Notts just for that particular place, but the whole road. Beginning from the ‘Tower side’ of the Aporoach, over the Glen and round thru to DP Packaging!! Everyone is swerving etc, to miss the many holes, gaps, cut out bodges’ on this section of NORTHGATE, it’s only a matter of time before someone is Seriously Hurt in an RTC !!! It’s been like this for years, but having stayed and surveyed the scene yesterday it’s become a MAJOR ISSUE for many. I would be grateful of your help and an assessment opinion. Regards P.
