Outside watercourse on bend where Donington Road meets High Street in Horbling NG34 0PR
Reported via mobile in the Damaged/missing pedestrian guardrail category anonymously at 11:15, Thursday 16 April 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2888578.
I have reported this fence as unsafe previously. It has now started to fall to bits. The children particularly are unsafe as they often look into the brook as they walk to and from school. The drop is 8 foot onto a brick lined bottom and will cause terrible injury should anyone fall by leaning on the broken fence. It is also a barrier for vehicles and cyclists using the highway of course and is about to fall onto the road at any point.

Good afternoon, just wondered if an inspection has taken place yet?
Can I also ask about the banking itself please? We’ve lived here 13 years (the house in the photos) and have seen the dyke flood most years. We fish out wheelie bins and all sorts which wash down from the village. Flooding has considerably corroded the bank sides over this time as it has the fence, and is eating away at our land boundary. If possible, we would be interested in talking to someone about this and what can be done to prevent further erosion. I hope you are able to help and advise, thank you. Helen Robinson 07967 806809.
