50m passed the trainline going into Langworth in the driveway entrance of station house
Reported via mobile in the Pothole on pavement/verge category anonymously at 23:02, Monday 11 May 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2891197.
Pothole in the walkway crossing entrance to station house driveway. Aprox 2 meters wide over 25mm deep in places, the edge of the road itself is now revealed. Been reporting this over several years and the mother in law who has been visiting has now tripped in the pothole while putting the bins out. When it rains it fills with water causing pedestrians to walk around it into the road. We have needed to repair the suspension on our car in the last 6 months due to the depth of the drop.

This issue has NOT been fixed.
The original report was for the damaged public footway/driveway crossing at the end of the driveway at Station House, not the small pothole located across the railway line. The wrong defect appears to have been repaired, which suggests the report was not properly read or inspected before being marked as fixed.
Following rainfall yesterday, the damaged area is once again completely full of water, exactly as before. The defect remains dangerous and continues to deteriorate.
This is a significant trip hazard and members of the public have already tripped on it when the hole was visible and dry. When filled with water, pedestrians cannot see the depth or condition of the surface and are forced to step into the road to get around it. This is a busy road with regular traffic, creating a serious safety risk.
The damaged edge of the carriageway is also causing damage to vehicles entering and leaving the driveway, with the road edge now exposed well beyond acceptable levels.
We are extremely dissatisfied with the ongoing handling of this issue. This defect has been reported repeatedly over several years and we continue to receive temporary patch repairs, assurances that works are scheduled, or notifications stating the issue has been fixed when it clearly has not.
This matter now requires a proper inspection and a permanent repair, not another temporary patch. If the issue continues to be ignored or incorrectly closed, we will have no option but to raise the matter formally with the local councillor due to the ongoing danger to pedestrians and road users.
