Public footpath next to ship cottage, Churchill Lane
Reported via mobile in the Vegetation/Hedges/Trees category anonymously at 21:52, Sunday 17 May 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2891836.
The public footpath is obstructed by the overgrown hedge and various piles of rubbish that have been left there to prevent access to the public footpath. This makes the pathetic difficult and unsafe for use

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know about this matter to do with this public right of way. Just so that you know, this is what’s classified as a ‘Priority 4 Path’ within our current Lincolnshire County Council policy. Because this path is a ‘4’ there’s no specific timescale for resolution of vegetation issues. What happens with this category of path is that all issues are investigated and the resolved at the same time, so when the path does have a workplan actioned then ALL issues outstanding are taken care of in one go. We’ll let you know when anything happens further on this matter but, for now, we won’t be carrying out any work at this site.
BUT! If any report made to us is a Health and Safety matter, then this will be dealt with in a timescale that’s appropriate. We’ll assess each report made this way on its own merit, and then take the right measures to ensure safety for those who are using the path.Posted by Lincolnshire County Council at 14:04, Monday 18 May 2026
