Entrance to Manor Close Welbourn

I have reported this problem previously. We have a constant flow of water from Manor Close onto High Street Welbourn. It appears to come from a gulley but this has been cleaned recently. We are the owners of the Joiners Arms and have been for 11 years. To my knowledge the problem has been here as long as we have. Now though we have customers remarking on the smell coming from the drains. We have 2 gulleys in front of pub with one being slightly to the left of our front door.

Progress! We’ve completed our investigation and works are now planned. Once we know when work is due to take place we will let you know.

We have an update. Our highways team have issued this work out to one of their delivery gangs. We’ll let you know when the job is complete.

I appreciate that one of your “delivery gangs” has been issued with this job and as yet not completed. But the problem is getting worse and more customers complaining about the smell that appears to be coming from the drains. Do you have a date when something will happen? Jeremy Newman

Date 19.06.2026 Jeremy Newman. Landlord Joiners Arms As of last night we lost custom due to the smell from the drains in the Highway to front of Pub. It was a warm evening and we did have the outside doors open. I reported the smell on the 21st May and to my knowledge nothing has been done other than a visit and being told a “delivery gang” has been issued with this job. Could we get a timescale when something will be done to rectify problem. We do not want to this to continue and have a problem with lost customers.

Hi as yet to my knowledge nothing has happened regarding the problem drains at the entrance to Manor Close Welbourn. I am aware an inspection was made but I was told it was nothing to do with me notifying “fix my street “ in fact the 3 gentleman claimed were not aware with this platform.
