Public Footpath leading down from Martin Close to Chapel Lane
Reported via desktop in the Noxious weeds category anonymously at 15:32, Saturday 23 May 2026
Sent to Lincolnshire County Council less than a minute later. Council ref: 2892403.
The main problem is nettles, that have grown along and over the footpath. The children and parents use this footpath every day to take children to school. A kind neighbour has today managed to cut down some of the nettles but it needs clearing properly and certainly in the next few weeks. Thank you.

We are sorry but we are not taking immediate action with this report because an officer has been and walked the footpath and there isn't any safety concern at this moment in time. Thank you for reporting this matter.

The nettles were very tall and overgrown a while ago but a neighbour very kindly cut down the worst of the nettles as he was afraid his children were going to get stung by them on their way to school. I would hope that when they grow back (which no doubt they will in a few weeks time) you will reassess the situation. Kind regards

With reference to the footpath leading down from Martin Close to Chapel Lane. As you can see from the photographs the weeds and nettles have now regrown. The nettles at the bottom of the path being the worse problem, as the children have returned to school and use the footpath on a daily basis. I myself have accidently brushed against the nettles and been stung on the legs, so quite dangerous for young children. Can you please look into this problem and hopefully get the footpath cleared. Thank you.
