Subject: Urgent Complaint Regarding Dangerous Pavement Condition Outside Our Shop
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to formally complain about the poor condition of the pavement outside our shop at [shop address].
The pavement has previously been repaired, but the work appears to have been carried out to a poor standard and has left the surface uneven and hazardous. This has become a significant safety concern for pedestrians and mobility scooter users.
On Friday, we witnessed two separate incidents involving mobility scooters. In both cases, the scooters toppled over as a result of the uneven pavement surface. Fortunately, no serious injuries were sustained, but the situation could easily have resulted in significant harm.
As a local business, we are extremely concerned about the safety of our customers and members of the public who use this pavement daily. The current condition presents an obvious trip and collision hazard, particularly for elderly residents, wheelchair users, mobility scooter users, and those with limited mobility.
We therefore request that the council urgently inspect the pavement and arrange for the necessary repairs to be completed as soon as possible. We would also appreciate confirmation of the actions that will be taken and an indication of the expected timescale for the work.
Given the recent incidents, we believe this matter requires immediate attention to prevent further accidents and potential injuries.
We look forward to your prompt response.
Yours faithfully, H S Bains
