I am using fixmystreet to report a potential problem with planned surface dressing work for High Street, Ropsley
Surface dressing was due to have happened 8 June but did not occur due to weather conditions Had the weather been OK for the work, I have concerns that some cars would not have been moved to allow the work to proceed properly
There were/are numerous vehicles parked along the High Street, connected with a local business - between the War Memorial and Paddock Close - opposite the Green When resurfacing work was last carried out there was a similar issue. On that occasion all but one of the vehicles were moved but we ended up with a van sized area of road not being surface dressed
As the owner of the business does not live on the High Street they may not have received a leaflet and therefore be unaware of the planned work? Perhaps LCC could make contact with the business before the new date so that LCC is sure that the full road area can be treated this time?
It is also worth noting that as there are always vehicles parked in these areas the road surface does not get cleaned and builds up a layer of debris and the edges are covered in weeds. Will the road be cleaned and the weeds dug out before surface dressing occurs?

Thank you for your enquiry, the surface dressing was completed Wednesday 10th June, We will carry out an inspection, unfortunately we do come across this problem quite often and normally the contractor will return if any areas were missed, we have made note of debris, a road sweep should take place before dressing. Once inspection has been carried out then any issues will be raised with the contractor. Thank you for reporting this matter.
