Reference to the recent accident on 18th June 2026 involving two cars (refer to Police report). Despite this incident and other near misses, it is no felt a further investigation into current signage / road markings requires investigation once again. Despite additional ‘No Entry’ signs being added following a previous issue raised regarding my wife turning into Hawthorn Corner off Royal Oak Lane having a near collision with a Courier Van travelling the wrong way, it is felt further investigation is still required. One point previously raised, though no action has been taken to date is the existing ‘No Entry’ road markings, that whilst positioned correctly for the attention of vehicles existing Hawthorn Corner, BUT is too far around corner to be visible to vehicles inadvertently travelling in wrong direction, thus an additional ‘No Entry’ road marking seems an obvious solution ? Perhaps a traffic speed calming solutions may also have to be investigated ?
